We are very excited to be participating in YYC Pizza Week for the 3rd year in a row, taking place from September 22nd to October 1st! For ten days, 50 different local food vendors and restaurants will be offering a delicious pizza creation they dreamed up to raise money for charity – us included. Each participating vendor will be selling their pizza for $20, with $3 of each item going to the chosen charity. With a panel of pizza-loving judges to impress, pizza passports to be stamped, and a large variety of pies to try, we can barely wait for the event to begin!
This year, our submission is all kinds of delicious – a Pierogi Pizza fresh out of our wood-burning pizza oven. The dough is brushed with a dill-infused olive oil, then topped with a rich Ground Beef Tenderloin, flavourful Roasted Onions, thinly sliced Baby Potato, and some creamy Provolone Cheese. It is then topped with Crème Fraiche and Fresh Dill, and ready to be devoured.
The proceeds of this year’s YYC Pizza Week are being donated to the Calgary Meals On Wheels. As one of our city’s most established charitable organizations, Calgary Meals On Wheels is dedicated to helping all Calgarians meet their nutritional needs. With their mission to build a stronger, caring community that promotes health and independence, the charity helps citizens who require their services by providing quality meals at no cost. Through 5 different programs, Calgary Meals On Wheels is able to serve individuals, families, schools, and other community groups, never missing a day of scheduled delivery for the past 50 years. The charity delivers an amazing 1850 meals every day, with more than 463 000 meals to those in need every year.
Pick up your pizza passport, reserve your table here, and grab a slice (or a whole pie) for charity!
