After 30 years of operation, Cilantro restaurant located in the heart of Calgary’s beltline will be closing its doors at the end of the 2019 summer season – specific date of closure to be determined.
“It is with heavy hearts, together with a sense of optimism for the future, that we announce the closure of Cilantro,” says Larkin O’Connor, Business Development Manager. “Over the last 30 years, we have welcomed countless guests through our doors, and we would like to thank our valued patrons, loyal regulars, dedicated staff and the community for supporting Cilantro over the years.”
The closure of Cilantro comes as a strategic business decision that will allow Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts to explore new avenues of growth within the City of Calgary; while focusing greater efforts on its other properties, including The Lake House in Calgary, Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Deer Lodge in Lake Louise, and Emerald Lake Lodge in Field, BC.
In celebration of Cilantro’s longevity in the Calgary community, the restaurant will remain open for the duration of the summer for guests and staff alike to have a fun and memorable last few months, all while paying homage to this special spot from when it first opened in 1986.
So come and toast our special Calgary spot with a friend, or simply pop by to say hello next time you are on 17th Avenue. We will be running our fantastic Happy Hour until the end of the summer, which can be enjoyed on our award-winning patio alongside our delicious Canadiana Cuisine menu items.
